Hey! Thanks for stopping by. If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
So, my photographs are typically pretty… blah. I took photography in High School, but for some reason my brain is just not transferring those skills to digital.
One of my goals this year is too get better with my camera and coincidentally The MCP Project 52 signups happened to cross my path.
Here’s the gist:
MCP Project 52 – It’s a way to encourage creativity, make photography fun, and provide a challenge without actual pressure. Participants will [sic] sharing their art work and images weekly while inspiring each other.
The theme of the first week, which I am slightly behind on, was “Around The House” so here’s my go.

I fixed some of the overblown and added a vintage photo filter to it.
I hoping that if I keep fiddling with my camera every week that I’ll get better. Hopefully.
If you’d like to join–and we’d love to have you–the information is here. And be sure to stop by the Flickr pool of all the participating photos here. There are some outstanding photos in there!

Week 1Posted by Katie on August 28, 2008
Yeah, I seem to be in a blogging slump lately. It seems like everything I see that’s cool is not new or has been blogged a bazillion times before. Not much is going on in our lives, not much crafting because I’m too lazy to clean the kitchen table off, same ol’ same ol’, ya know?
I originally started this blog with intents to post things that I had sewn or cooked, but I don’t do nearly enough of it to post often enough. I want to warn my readers that my Grandma yells at me if I don’t post enough. (Love you grandma!
) Now I’m thinking that maybe I’ll just post the stuff that I think is cool?
What do you guys think? Should I stick with crafts and kids, or expand to include extra stuff?
And here’s a little eye candy for those of us who can’t go outside without facing 3rd degree burns.

Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that for the longest time I detested thrift stores. Just thinking of them brought the mothball/sanitizer/old lady smell to my nose and images of peg boards filled with headless Barbies danced in my mind. I hated some of the ugly (to me) clothes that my mom picked out and forced me to wear and there was never any of the cool stuff that all the other kids had.
I’ve decided recently though that I like thirft stores now that I’m in charge of what I buy. Did you know that Goodwill carries Fabric, notions and other crafty bits? Totally! That’s how Mom got me in there in the first place.

These were panels that I also found. Declan loves the little map blankie I made him.
