Hey! Thanks for stopping by. If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
I received some amazing news yesterday!

Unfortunately I can’t really say yet, but I can say that it means I’ll have more reasons to blog soon. Not that I don’t now.
It’s been so beautiful in little Queen Creek lately. Just warm enough to stay outside, but cool enough to debate a jacket. For Pete’s Sake, I even cleaned my exterior porch and garage lights today because I wanted to stay outside so bad. AND! We cleaned the garage yesterday. Go me! (And thanks bunches Dad. He’s a great packer.)
The boys have rediscovered sidewalk chalk. I would have taken a picture of my chalk covered kids and dog, but D’s in the potty. He told me he’d be out in 3 hours. I’m not waiting on that, because, well, he’s probably right.
Stay tuned for the great news, which is about 3 weeks off. But you can pretend that it could be any minute and keep checking back obsessively.
Or you can guess what it is in the comments. No fair giving it away if you already know though.
And no, there’s no need to start crocheting, as my Grandma asked. I’m not pregnant. As far as I know. And I should know. Hopefully.

My gorgeous boys
MOTHERS
Real Mothers don’t eat quiche;
They don’t have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn’t come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don’t want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask ‘Why me?‘
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, ‘Because I love you best.’
Real Mothers know that a child’s growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade…
It is marked by the progression of Mummy to Mum to Mother…
…
My grandma sent this to me today, and I thought it was short, sweet and completely on point. I just wanted to share with the rest of you who might need a little poem about now.

While Matt and I are working on another project or two, I got a wild hair to change my blog theme.
I think maybe I have settled for this one, what do you think? Grandma approves and I think she’s right!:-D

O, some of you have asked — The house hunting is going slowly… oh so slowly. You’d think it’d be a great time to shop right now. Unfortunately for us, not only have a majority of the previous house owners let their mortgages go into foreclosure but they’ve also decided to trash everything possible. Cleaning is one thing, serious repairs are another. And appliances. Buying a house is so much work!

Yeah, I seem to be in a blogging slump lately. It seems like everything I see that’s cool is not new or has been blogged a bazillion times before. Not much is going on in our lives, not much crafting because I’m too lazy to clean the kitchen table off, same ol’ same ol’, ya know?
I originally started this blog with intents to post things that I had sewn or cooked, but I don’t do nearly enough of it to post often enough. I want to warn my readers that my Grandma yells at me if I don’t post enough. (Love you grandma!
) Now I’m thinking that maybe I’ll just post the stuff that I think is cool?
What do you guys think? Should I stick with crafts and kids, or expand to include extra stuff?
And here’s a little eye candy for those of us who can’t go outside without facing 3rd degree burns.

- Hippos! Yay! My Grandma sent me this adorable family of hippos as a Mother’s Day present. Aren’t they cute? Now I just need to find a home for the rest of my hippos.

- My ability to successfully complete a double welt pocket, as demonstrated here:

- I received my Spoonflower Beta invitation! I am so excited to try and get something of my own printed. I am thinking I’d like to do some logos and what not to stitch onto my completed projects. Heaven forbid someone come across one of my aprons when I’m dead and gone and not know who made it. That would be a shame. Plus, I’m really getting to the point where I’d like to start getting some stuff done for my Etsy shop. I really like to have things tagged and labeled. It seems to up the professionality, ya know? My biggest concern with premaking things to put in a shop is what if it doesn’t sell and it just sits there? Especially if it’s girl clothes — I have no use for those unfortunately.
- I also got my Ravelry invite, but it’ll be awhile before I actually get anything going in there.
- I’m excited to get started on the Market Tote Swap. No last minutes for me this time. I’m getting it done and out of here. I need to make some stuff for myself for a change.
- I thought I had more than that but I guess not. I’ve got a big post in the works on sewing FAQS and another on ‘Pretty vs Functional’. Maybe you guys can weigh in with me and convince Matt that I need to have free decorating reign on the ENTIRE house.

Stay tuned my wonderful readers. Same blog time, Same blog channel.
