Hey! Thanks for stopping by. If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
I’ve been feeling quilty lately. Baby showers seem to be the best inspiraion for me. I gives me a deadline and an excuse to give a gift that will last instead of something that will be used for a month or two and then donated.

I have few baby gifts that we still use now that my youngest is a year. One of them is a small sampler quilt that my mom picked up at at a truck stop somewhere outside of Payson, Az.

Here’s the version I created. I think it turned out really well. I had a couple different quils in mind when I desgined this. PurlBee lists a great tutorial. Crazy Mom Quilts had a beautiful version. Don’t forget this sassy one too.

I used 6or 7 different greens that I picked up at JoAnns. The brown is a super soft linen blend. The backing is Alexader Henry’s Giraffe Crossing.

When I asked the mama-to-be what her nursery theme was she said giraffes and outdoorsy colors. I hope it fits in okay. If not I know quite a few boys here that would be happy to keep it!

(That’s my 6’2″ brother for size reference!)

To just be happy with my blog layout. It seems like everyday I’m deciding something is not wrong. I’m almost to the point where I want to pay someone to do a custom theme for me. I’m one a new color scheme kick and can’t even find anything with the right colors! Grr.
Anyway, I have stepup a bookstore for myself, full of all the wonderful books I’d like to share. You can find it here until I fix my layout and incorporate it into my blog. If you would also be so kind as to click this link before buying anything from Amazon, you would be helping us out greatly, as we get a small — very small — percentage of what you buy. So instead of all the profit going to Amazon a little bit goes to us! Woot!

In the meantime, check out this great article about Spring Farmer’s Markets.

As is normal for me I’ve procrastinated and took my sweet time on something. So now I have this weekend and this weekend only to complete the apron I’m making for my swap partner.
I think my biggest issue was not knowing my partner. I hemmed and hawed about my fabric choices for much much too long. I think I ended up adding about 6 yards to my fabric stash that I decided on and then changed my mind. I’ve finalized all of the colors, but as is customary, I didn’t buy enough. Thankfully it’s a solid and I should be able to find a suitable piece
At least I haven’t received my apron yet. Then I’d feel really bad. Wish me luck this weekend.
BUT! Once I get this done I can move on with my springy swap with Nicky! Yay!
