Terrific Thursday… or something like that.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I was having technical difficulties. I figured out it was my theme. Hang out for awhile while I mess around with finding a new one I like. Changes to come.

OH! I got my camera. We’re back in action! Yay!

You all may have noticed that I haven’t posted much lately. It’s actually not because of bloggers block. I have lots I’d like to do. Instead it’s because lack of camera is just frustrating. Blogs that don’t have some kind of pictures are usually removed quickly from my Google Reader. Also, once I switched to hosting my own blog, all of the WYSIWYG formatting has just turned into… crap. Take a look at some of my previous posts and you may see what I mean. I have a weird sense of perfectionism. If something doesn’t come out perfect, or relatively close, I rarely try again. Kind of a… "Why bother if the next one is going to suck too?" type attitude.

Anyway…. Here’s what’s happening today:

Working On: I recently found Swap-Bot and have a few swaps that I need to get going, including a private one with my beautiful chum, Nicky. I’m also trying to put together an order for a Co/Op with Frontier. Oh, did I mention I have 5 kids under the age of 3 today? Yeah, I might just pop a few brain cells today.

Eating: Nutella! Why is it that I was 24 before I discovered this sinfully decadent treat? Maybe the vaguely "foreign-looking" labeling made me think of pureed marmite or something? Although I’ve tried it many ways, the best way to eat it is with a spoon or to use in baking. Any other ideas? Oh, and did you know that it’s made by the same company that makes Tic-Tacs?

Nutella

Listening To: Matt Nathanson. Yum. (Since Matt asked - Yum is for the music, not the artist.)

Reading: The Memory Keeper’s Daughter. My older sister, Bonnie, has Down Syndrome. So does one of my little daycare dudes. I was hurrying through CostCo and decided to pick up a book, so as I was cruising through the aisle I just grabbed one with a familiar title and a vaguely interesting cover. Ugh. It’s a tearjerker, but in a good way I suppose. I try to imagine what my family went through when Bonnie was born, and just can’t. I’ve obviously never had an issue with Special Needs kids because I grew up with one, and some of the passages in this book just made me so so angry. I recommend you read it.

Waiting On: Matt to get home, of course. But I look forward to the UPS guy even more…! He has my camera, a whole stash of fabric and crafty stuff, as well as a new carseat for Mr Rowan. Of course it’s not all coming today, but I can hope. He should be dropping off a screen for Matt’s new toy too.

Researching: St Patrick’s Day recipes. There’s so many to choose from, and I don’t have much time to do a trial run first.

Drooling Over: Wall Graphics!! What I wouldn’t give for some of these beautiful murals in my house… Wait, step one is owning a house? Are you sure? Drat.

Grr

Bear with me guys. I’m experiencing technical difficulties and have called in the professional, but Matt’s got a class to teach tomorrow so he can’t help me tonight.

Free Hugs

At one point in my life, I had an amazing group of friends. Every last one of them would get up and do stupid things with me, regardless of where we were. As I watched this video I immediately thought of them. I cried. The video is so cute and touching, but I know beyond a doubt that we would have done this were we all still together. I can still hope, but as many of us have come to realize we turn into adults and there’s almost no going back.

{Hugs for everyone}

Here’s the mail, it never fails!

Yay! I had an awesome mail day on Saturday.

Not only did I get my Emmeline Apron Pattern, but I got a somewhat expected (as in I knew something was coming, but not what was in it) yet unexpected package from my wonderful Grandma Betty. Remember how I was complaining recently about not having pinking shears? I almost splurged the other day and bought a set at JoAnn’s because they were on sale, but it would have eaten all the money I had to spend that day. That’s what was in my package!! Yay! A glorious set of pinking shears. Isn’t she great?!

I just had to share. As soon as I opened my mail, I sent Matt a text letting him know what I got and he replied… “What are pinking shears?” Guys are funny.

I have a couple posts I need to make tomorrow - one’s huge news regarding my little blog, one’s typical for Mondays and one requires the consumption of alcohol, so we’ll see what happens, as I can’t drink. Stayed tuned my little bloggie buds.

#1 Thing that made me happy on Wednesday

Matt received a promotion to a trainer for the Technical Support Department at the University of Phoenix. Isn’t that awesome?!

I am so super proud of him. :D
