Spring Cleaning, maybe?

While Matt and I are working on another project or two, I got a wild hair to change my blog theme.

I think maybe I have settled for this one, what do you think? Grandma approves and I think she’s right!:-D

O, some of you have asked — The house hunting is going slowly… oh so slowly. You’d think it’d be a great time to shop right now. Unfortunately for us, not only have a majority of the previous house owners let their mortgages go into foreclosure but they’ve also decided to trash everything possible. Cleaning is one thing, serious repairs are another. And appliances. Buying a house is so much work!

  1. Blog design is something I’m never completely satisfied with, even when tons of people tell me it looks good. I have a few blogs and constantly I am tweaking it and with thousands of wordpress themes it is so hard to pick one!

Foreclosures typically are in bad shape — you are right that they trash the house. Sometimes it is just neglect or vandals/theives from being vacant, other times it is complete spite done by the former owners — so they will purposely leave an upstairs bathtub running water, do all types of unmentionable things on the floors, or gouge holes into the walls. We’ve done a couple of trash outs and while the business is good, it’s certainly not pretty!

But don’t worry — not all foreclosures are like that, and not all houses are foreclosures! The right house will come along — March & April tend to bring out a lot more sellers in most markets!

I love to spring clean because I always love how my house and yard looks like after I finish it. I always have a hard time at where to start the Spring cleaning though.
